Video Interview with Damon Fox of Bigelf at Progressive Nation 2009!

On August 29th 2009 Bigelf performed at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA for the last show of the Progressive Nation Tour in North America. When you watch a Bigelf live performance the word theatrics comes to mind, which is a good thing when it comes to their psychedelic/doom style of music. Whether it’s Ace Mark ripping out a face melting solo, or it’s Damon Fox staring through the crowd in his top hat while ripping on his Hammond. The crowd even chanted crank up that Hammond!

On this night they returned to their home town crowd in Los Angeles. There was electricity in the air that was almost tangible. Once Bigelf settled in during their set the audience tuned in and fell into the rock and roll groove that ebbed from Bigelf. The best moment of the night was when a lively Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) came out to play drums on Bigelf’s energetic track “Blackball”. It’s easy to tell these guys have a good time playing in front of a huge crowd and hopefully they will bring back the glory days of the early/mid 70’s progressive hard rock.
