Chiptune Platformer, Bit. Trip. Runner for WiiWare

The latest videos of the Bit. Trip. game series from publisher Aksys Games and small team developer Gajin Games show the the awesome combination of platforming music game genres.

Bit. Trip. Runner is a game that rely heavily on your rhythm and platforming skills. Players will be forced running across a stylized 8-bit 2D world with obstacles you must avoid to the rhythm of the music. Each consecutive jump that is completed successfully adds layers of music and sounds to accompany the core track.

Each game of the Bit. Trip. series revolves around a character named “Commander Video” and features “a crazy mix 80s aesthetics and modern game design.” It’s really cool that developers and small teams like Gajin Games are getting the chance to test new genres through digital distribution.

Bit. Trip. Runner joins Gajin Games’ other Bit. Trip. games including (Core, Void, and Beat). Currently, these games contain three distinct levels as well as multiple levels within offering similarĀ  “chiptune” inspired soundtracks.

Bit. Trip Runner races to Wii Ware this spring.
