Cerberus Soon to Offer Extra Free In-Game Content (UPDATE)
UPDATE: Starting tomorrow, you will be able to download the Cerberus Assault Armor and M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun for Shephard and crew if you’ve activated your Cerberus Network Card. The DLC goes live on Tuesday, February 9th at 2pm EDT for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game. Get the full stats over at BioWare.
The Cerberus Network, an in-game add on for those Mass Effect 2 owners who are also connected online, boastsĀ “access to exclusive benefits”. The Cerberus Network Card, which comes with all new copies of the game, allows owners to ” be eligible to download new missions, characters and more as well as have access to an up-to-date news stream.”
Well, what are those new missions and characters? It looks like fans of the series are going to be able to find out sooner than they thought. The network, which currently allows for the download of Zaeed , “one of the deadliest guns-for-hire in the Terminus Systems”, is said to be adding additional free in-game content in the weeks to come according to Bioware’s Mass Effect 2 twitter account. The update reads:
“Free in-game content in a couple weeks for those who have activated Cerberus Network! Stay tuned for more details.”
What’s that content going to be? A fair amount of people have probably already completed the game, since it’s release almost two weeks ago. How big of an investment is this Network for the company? How long are they going to be adding Cerberus exclusive DLC?
Hopefully those questions and more will be answered in the coming weeks. No matter the content, let’s hope that the additional DLC adds to the game’s replay value. If Bioware uses the Network properly, they may end up making more of a profit on the franchise than they had originally hoped.

That’s the way they’re making it sound.
wait this is ontop of the stuff we get for free already?
